Emma Ward is an early career artist living and working in Central Queensland. Emma’s practise explores painting, drawing and sculpture with an agenda of connecting and expressing emphatically to stories of the ‘nurturer’.
Emma’s practice is a constantly evolving. Inspired by artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe, Janet Laurence, Cherry Hood and Gina Kalabishis, Emma is devoted to exploring the psychology of the female paradigm in society and in nature.
Her stories connect feelings with memories, and the importance of recording subtle, yet powerful moments in time. As a catalyst to unlocking narratives Emma uses familiar, often mundane objects to weave stories about identity, love and the feminine condition.
